Casi is my best friend with the heart of gold and mouth of a sailor. :) I’ve always called her my soul mate, because while we may seem different to the rest of the world, she and I share the same heart and soul. We met spring 2003 on our Walt Disney World College Program internship. I was talking with a cast member at work one day and once she found out I was obsessed with all things Audrey Hepburn and Seinfeld, she wouldn’t stop talking about this other new girl who loved Seinfeld and Audrey even more than me. I finally met Casi one glorious day at Pooh Unload- I was bumping her to break when I looked at her name tag and said, “Hey! How do you pronounce your name? Is it Kay-cee or Cass-ee?” Casi snapped back, “How many s’s are there in ass?”
She left me speechless and thinking I’d never see her again. One faithful 2am closing shift later, she and I ended up going to Perkins at Crossroads, talking for hours, and we’ve never looked back since. I’d say the first few months of our friendship were spent in Perkins, taking turns being the one smitten with Mr. Right, then finding out he’s Mr. Wrong, and of course then find out he’s sooooooooo Mr. Wrong and MY LIFE IS OVER! We’d take turns picking up the other, always saying, “Someday we’ll leave all of this behind, meet amazing husbands who are crazy about us and love us so much and then bring our babies to Disney!” Well, 75% of that equation came true last fall, and even though I won’t be bringing a baby anytime soon, it was so surreal living our dreams of a decade.
We only get to see each other every couple years, so our reunions are always a little teary and a whole lot of speaking a million miles a minute trying to catch up with each other. The last time I saw my Casi, she was in a wedding gown (read that story here and then here), and this time, I was meeting her practically perfect in every way daughter, Brielle Amelie.
Probably my favorite thing about meeting my new niece, Miss Bee? Just like when I met her momma 10 long years ago, I thought she hated me at first glance. Come to find out- Casi’s daughter has two modes in life: Stink eye and complete bliss. <3
Love. Her. To. The. Moon. I love this photo because even though we both look awkward as anything, I pretty much just hang on Casi’s every word when she’s around!
It was new glasses day and I was feeling sort of pretty, ok? :)
The very spot of our first meeting: “Pooh Unload.” Yes, that’s the honest-to-goodness official term.
Confession: I loathe New Fantasyland.
Firefly babies are my favorite!!
Casi brought over 20 Disney costumes for Miss Bee to sport around the park for the week. <3
Confession: We’re used to park time with babies being stop, go, stop, go, but with Bee? I honestly kept forgetting she was with us!! We rode every ride possible and she smiled, slept, and poo pooed. Such a perfect angel!!
My heart!!! <3
I always have to look away at this part!
Casi, Ian, and Bee, I love you guys to infinity and beyond!! Can we please start planning our next trip??
More Casi and Ian blog love! <3
